Texas Peas - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 gal. fresh peas
1 small hot pepper
1 Tbsp. bacon drippings
water
Preparation

Pick peas (black-eyes, crowders, purple hulls or other). Shell promptly, then rinse well.
Place in saucepan with water to cover along with other ingredients.
Simmer about 1 hour, stirring often.
(Add water as needed.)
