Smothered Chicken Or Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cut up fryer or 2 lb. steak
    salt and pepper
    1/2 c. Crisco or oil
    flour, to coat chicken or steak
Preparation
    Add 1/2 cup Crisco or oil to iron skillet, heat.
    Roll chicken or steak in flour.
    Season with salt and pepper; brown each piece until golden brown.
    When all is brown, add glass of water.
    Let cook in oven until it makes its own gravy.
    May have to add more water or use milk instead of water.
