Swiss Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. 1 1/2-inch thick round steak
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    3 Tbsp. melted fat
    2 c. canned tomatoes
    3 sliced onions
    1 minced garlic
    1 green pepper, cut into rings
Preparation
    Trim excess fat from meat.
    Cut into serving pieces.
    Combine flour, salt and pepper.
    Place meat on a wooden chopping block. Sprinkle flour mixture on meat.
    Pound meat with a mallet.
    Turn meat and repeat on other side.
    Brown meat in fat in skillet on both sides.
    Add onions, tomatoes and garlic.
    Cover and simmer over low heat.
    Add green pepper and cook 20 minutes.
    Skim off fat.
    Thicken juice if necessary.
    Serves 6.
