French Vanilla Ice Cream - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 qt. whole milk
    6 eggs, lightly beaten
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 pt. cream
Preparation
    Cook milk, eggs, sugar and salt over low heat, stirring frequently to keep mixture from burning.
    When cooked mixture coats a wooden spoon, remove from heat.
    Add cream and vanilla. Cool mixture, then freeze using electric ice cream maker or hand cranked ice cream maker.
    Makes 5 quarts.
