Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1 c. regular oatmeal
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt, cinnamon and nutmeg
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over oatmeal and cool. Cream the shortening and sugars. Add eggs and cooled oatmeal.
    Add sifted dry ingredients and vanilla. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
