Easy Fresh Peach Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. fresh ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
    1 c. sugar, divided
    1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
    3/4 c. all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Combine peaches and 1/2 cup sugar; allow standing until sugar dissolves. Melt butter in an 11 x 7-inch baking dish in the microwave. In small bowl, stir together 1/2 cup sugar, flour, baking powder and milk; stir until just mixed and then pour over butter. DO NOT STIR! Spoon peaches over top. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 55 minutes.
