Microwave Mints - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. light corn syrup
    1/4 c. milk
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    red or green food coloring
    peppermint extract
Preparation
    In
    a 2-quart glass measure, combine sugar, corn syrup, milk and cream of tartar.
    Cook on High (Maximum
    power) for 5 to
    6 minutes or until a few drops of mixture
    in
    cold
    water forms
    a soft ball (238\u00b0 on candy thermometer).
    Let
    stand
    3 minutes
    to cool
    slightly.
    Beat with mixer
    until
    creamy. Flavor with 8 to 10 drops of peppermint extract and color with food
    coloring. Drop mixture by teaspoonful onto
    foil.
    When cool, store in airtight container.
