Ingredients

1 (10 oz.) can tomato puree
1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. fresh bread crumbs
1/2 c. melted butter (6 Tbsp. works just fine)
1/4 tsp. Tabasco
Preparation

Mix puree, water, sugar, salt and Tabasco. Boil 5 minutes. Place bread in casserole. Pour butter over it. Let soak in. Pour tomato mixture over bread. Bake 30 minutes at 375\u00b0. Can be made several hours ahead. Cook 45 minutes if refrigerated.
