Ingredients

1/2 lb. extra-sharp Cheddar cheese, softened
1/2 c. unsalted butter, softened
1 egg
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. ground red (cayenne) pepper
1 c. finely minced scallions with tops
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Beat cheese and butter in medium bowl until well blended.
Add egg; beat until light.
Add flour, salt and ground red pepper; stir to mix well.
Stir in scallions.
