Company Best Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 medium cucumbers
    2 Tbsp. pickling spice, mixed
    4 c. cider vinegar
    8 c. sugar
    5 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cover whole cucumbers with boiling water.
    Allow to stand until next morning.
    Drain.
    Repeat this procedure on the next 3 mornings.
    On the fifth day, drain and slice in 1/2-inch pieces. Combine the sugar, spice, salt and vinegar.
    Bring to boiling and pour over the cucumbers.
    Let stand two days.
    On the third day, bring to boiling and seal in hot, sterilized jars.
    Makes 7 pints.
