Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1 c. molasses
    2/3 c. shortening, melted
    1 c. sour milk
    1 heaping tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. raisins (optional)
Preparation
    Dissolve soda in sour milk.
    Mix as given.
    Do not use mixer. Mix by hand.
    Add raisins last, if desired.
    Pour in greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven until done, 30 to 40 minutes.
    Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
