Mock Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    20 Ritz crackers
    1 uncooked pie shell
Preparation
    Mix sugar, water and cream of tartar in saucepan; bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
    Then add 5 or 6 crackers at a time
    in
    syrup
    until
    soggy, then place in unbaked pie shell. Continue
    until all crackers are used.
    Pour remaining syrup over
    crackers
    in\tpie
    shell.
    Dot
    with\tmargarine. Sprinkle with
    nutmeg
    and
    cinnamon
    to taste.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until edges of pie shell are brown.
