Stuffed Green Peppers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large green peppers
    1 1/2 c. ground beef
    1/4 c. uncooked rice
    1/4 c. minced onion
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 c. water
Preparation
    Cut tops off peppers and remove any seeds.
    Mix meat, rice, onion, salt and pepper.
    Stuff peppers 3/4 full with this mixture. Stand up in a deep skillet with a lid.
    Mix remaining ingredients and pour over the peppers.
    Cover and cook slowly 40 minutes.
    Add a small amount of water if necessary.
    Serve hot.
