Divinity - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. sugar
1/2 c. corn syrup
1/8 tsp. salt
2/3 c. water
3 egg whites, well beaten
1 1/2 c. nuts
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation

Cook sugar, syrup, salt and water until it will form a soft ball when tested in cold water.
Take out 1/2 cup of this and cook the rest until it forms hard ball.
Pour 1/2 cup mixture slowly over beaten egg whites.
Beat constantly.
Add the rest of the mixture when ready.
Stir in nuts and vanilla.
Stir until it thickens.
Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper.
