Apple Pie Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 c. flour
2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
5 c. diced apples, peeled and cored
1 c. chopped walnuts
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
4 Tbsp. hot water
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Stir in eggs and vanilla; sift together dry ingredients.
Stir in half of flour mixture into sugar mixture.
Beat in 2 tablespoons hot water.
Beat in remaining flour and then remaining water.
Stir in apples and nuts. Spread into 2 greased 9-inch square pans and bake at 350\u00b0 about 50 minutes.
