Everyday Cupcakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 c. sugar
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    3/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Place shortening in mixing bowl.
    Sift in dry ingredients. Add egg and half the milk.
    Mix until flour is moistened.
    Beat 2 minutes at low speed on electric mixer.
    Add remaining milk and vanilla.
    Beat 1 minute longer.
    Fill paper bake cups in muffin pans half full.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 18 to 20 minutes or until done. Cool.
    Frost with jelly frosting.
    Makes 1 1/2 dozen cupcakes.
