Charlie'S Cafe Special Wild Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. wild rice
    4 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1 small onion
    4 strips bacon
    4 finely chopped green onions
    6 thinly sliced fresh mushrooms
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Rinse wild rice thoroughly. Combine with water, salt and onion.
    Cover and simmer until tender, 40 to 45 minutes.
    Remove onion; drain rice in colander.
    Dice bacon; fry until crisp.
    Add green onions and mushrooms; cook just until tender.
    Add drained rice; season with salt and pepper.
    Heat through.
    Makes 6 servings.
