Christmas Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. seeded raisins
    4 c. seedless raisins
    2 c. candied cherries, cut
    2 c. citron, sliced
    1 c. candied pineapple, sliced
    3 c. walnuts, broken
    1/2 c. fruit juice
    5 c. all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 lb. shortening
    2 c. white sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    3 tsp. cinnamon
    2 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. allspice
    2 tsp. mace
    1 tsp. vanilla
    6 eggs, well beaten
Preparation
    Cream shortening; add sugar.
    Mix well; add salt and beaten eggs.
    Add fruit and nuts which have been cut in small pieces and mixed with 1/2 cup flour.
    Add sifted dry ingredients and fruit juice.
    Mix well.
    Bake in paper lined loaf tins at 275\u00b0 for 3 hours.
    Makes 9 pounds of cake.
