Ingredients

3 egg yolks
1 c. brown sugar
6 Tbsp. flour (scant)
2 c. milk
4 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. red syrup (optional)
Preparation

Put part of milk in double boiler; add a little extra white sugar and part of brown sugar to milk.
Add flour and rest of sugar together; stir in remaining milk and beat in egg yolks, then add with butter into hot mixture.
Cool until thickened and add to pie crust.
