Chili Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

7 or 8 qt. tomatoes, peeled and quartered
1 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. salt
2 green peppers, chopped
2 hot red peppers, chopped
2 stalks celery, diced
3 medium onions, diced
1 c. cider vinegar
2 Tbsp. paprika
1 1/2 tsp. powdered cloves
1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. allspice
1 1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
Preparation

Cook tomatoes with salt until tender.
Skim off 2 cups liquid (for shorter cooking time).
Add other ingredients and cook until thick, stirring occasionally.
Pour into hot, sterilized jars and seal.
Makes about 4 quarts.
