Green Tomato Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. green sliced tomatoes (not too big)
    2 gal. water
    3 c. lime
    5 lb. sugar
    4 qt. white vinegar
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. mace
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Soak tomatoes in water and lime for 24 hours.
    Wash good. Soak washed tomatoes in cold ice water 4 hours.
    Tie spices in little bag and put in with sugar and vinegar and bring to a boil. Pour over drained tomatoes and let stand overnight.
    Bring to boil and boil for 1 hour.
    Put in hot jars and seal.
