Williamsburg Candied Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 to 12 Yates apples, peeled and cored
    2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 pkg. cinnamon gems (4 to 6 oz.)
Preparation
    Boil the last 3 ingredients in a deep pan for 5 minutes; add apples, turning often.
    Lift apples from pan.
    Place in baking dish; pour liquid over apples.
    Let cool.
    Stuff apples with cream cheese and nuts.
    This is a beautiful Christmas dish!!
