Rhubarb Surprise - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. rhubarb, chopped
    1/2 c. butter
    3 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Spread 8 cups chopped rhubarb evenly in a 9 x 13-inch greased pan.
    Cream the butter, 1 1/2 cups of the sugar, flour, salt and baking powder alternately with 1/2 cup of the milk.
    Spread mixture over rhubarb.
    Combine remaining sugar (1 1/2 cups) and cornstarch.
    Sprinkle evenly over batter.
    Pour 1 cup boiling water evenly over all.
    Bake for 1 hour at 375\u00b0.
