Texas Hash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 large onions, sliced
    1 large green pepper
    3 Tbsp. oil or shortening
    1 lb. ground beef
    2 c. cooked tomatoes (1 lb. can)
    1 tsp. chili powder
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. rice, washed and uncooked or 2 c. noodles, uncooked
Preparation
    Saute onions and pepper in shortening or oil.
    Add ground beef and fry until mixture falls apart.
    Stir in tomatoes, rice, chili powder, salt and pepper.
    Pour into greased 2-quart baking dish. Cover and bake for 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
    Remover cover during last 15 minutes of baking time.
    Yields 6 servings.
