Russian Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter, softened by standing at room temperature
    1/2 c. powdered sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. finely chopped walnuts
Preparation
    With a spoon, soften butter, gradually creaming in the sugar and vanilla.
    Next, sift together the flour and salt.
    Add walnuts to flour.
    Combine flour and butter mixtures.
    Refrigerate for about 1 hour.
    Roll in hands to 1-inch balls.
    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 400\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
    Roll in powdered sugar while still warm.
    Makes about 3 dozen.
