Chocolate Meringue Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/3 c. all-purpose flour
3 Tbsp. cocoa
1/8 tsp. salt
2 c. water
3 eggs, separated
1/4 c. margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (9-inch) pricked and baked pie shell
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 c. and 2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation

Combine first four ingredients in a heavy saucepan.
Stir in 1/2 cup of water, mixing well to make a paste.
Add remaining 1 1/2 cups water, egg yolks and butter, stir well.
Cook over medium heat about three minutes until mixture thickens and boils, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
Pour filling into pie shell.
Beat egg whites and cream of tartar at high speed of mixer; add 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons of sugar, one tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff peaks form.
Spread over hot filling.
Spread to edges of pie shell to seal the pie.
Bake at 450\u00b0 for five minutes.
