Cranberry Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cranberries, chopped
    1/2 c. sugar, divided
    1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    3/4 c. milk
    1/3 c. cooking oil
    1 tsp. grated lemon peel
Preparation
    Sprinkle cranberries with 2 tablespoons sugar; set aside. Sift remaining sugar, flour, baking powder and salt into large mixing bowl.
    In separate bowl, beat the egg, milk and oil.
    Pour into dry ingredients.
    Stir until well mixed.
    Do not overmix. Add berries and lemon peel.
    Bake in muffin cups or loaf pan (6 x 11-inch) for 18 to 22 minutes at 375\u00b0.
