Ingredients

1/4 c. margarine or butter
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted or 3 Tbsp. cocoa and 1 tablespoon butter
1 1/2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk
1/2 c. nuts, chopped (optional)
Preparation

Cream butter (or margarine) and sugar.
Add vanilla and chocolate and mix until well blended.
Add all flour and baking powder, then all milk to chocolate mixture.
Mix well (add nuts). Pour batter into greased 9-inch square pan.
