Overnight Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1 c. diced celery
    4 hard-boiled eggs
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen English peas, thawed
    1/2 c. green pepper
    1 small onion, diced or sliced
    8 slices bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 c. mayonnaise or Miracle Whip
    4 oz. grated Cheddar cheese or can use Parmesan
Preparation
    Layer all ingredients, except last 3 items.
    Blend sugar with mayonnaise or Miracle Whip and spread over salad.
    Sprinkle Cheddar cheese on top.
    Refrigerate 8 to 12 hours.
