Papaya Crisp - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 c. firm, ripe papayas, peeled and thickly sliced
2 to 3 Tbsp. tapioca
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. each: raisin and nuts (optional)
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
3/4 c. flour
1/3 c. butter or margarine
Preparation

Mix papaya, tapioca, lemon juice, raisins, 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg well.
Pour into a 9-inch square baking pan. Combine remaining 1/2 cup sugar and flour.
Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
Sprinkle over papaya mixture.
Bake, uncovered, in 400\u00b0 oven for 45 minutes or until lightly brown. May be served with ice cream.
