Irish Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. flour
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    1 c. water
    1 beaten egg
    butter (size of an egg)
    1 yeast cake
    3/4 c. raisins
    1 jar Dromedary mixed fruit
Preparation
    Scald milk with butter.
    Pour into a large bowl and cool.
    Add sugar and salt.
    Dissolve yeast cake in lukewarm water.
    When milk has cooled, add the beaten egg and the yeast; stir well.
    Add fruit and raisins, then the flour.
    Beat well and let rise to double.
    If not stiff enough to knead, add a little more flour but don't get too stiff; knead well.
    Place in bowl and butter top.
    Let rise to double; knead and shape into 2 loaves.
    Let rise.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for about 45 minutes.
