Never Fail Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1 egg, beaten
    5 Tbsp. water
Preparation
    Mix ingredients into a soft dough and divide in two parts. Roll out very thin; let dry 15 to 20 minutes.
    Cut in 2-inch squares and drop into broth that is simmering.
    Let cook until done, about 15 minutes.
