Carolyn'S Cut-Outs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    4 to 4 1/2 c. flour (start with 4 c.)
    almond or vanilla extract
Preparation
    Cream together shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs and flavoring. Mix together dry ingredients and add with buttermilk to creamed mixture.
    Add enough flour to make dough hold shape (may be tacky).
    Chill 1 hour.
    Generously flour board and rolling pin and roll dough for cut-out cookies.
    Place on cookie sheets.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 for 7 to 10 minutes depending on thickness (bottoms are just turning brown).
