Beef Stroganoff - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. top round steak, cut in 1/3 x 2-inch strips
    1 large onion, minced
    3 Tbsp. butter
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 can beef consomme
    1 Tbsp. catsup
    1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 tsp. dried basil
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    dash of nutmeg
    1 (6 oz.) can mushrooms
    1 c. sour cream (room temperature)
Preparation
    Saute onion in butter until lightly browned.
    Stir in flour and gradually add consomme, stirring constantly.
    Add basil, catsup, Worcestershire sauce, pepper and nutmeg.
    Slowly simmer mixture for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Lightly brown strips in a slightly greased and salted skillet.
    When strips are tender, add them to sauce.
    Add drained mushrooms to sauce.
    Just before serving, add sour cream; heat.
    Do not boil.
    Serve with rice or noodles.
    Serves 4.
