Yam-Apple Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 medium yams
    4 medium apples
    1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. pecans
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. margarine
Preparation
    Boil yams until tender.
    Peel and cube.
    Core apples and cut in 1/4-inch rings.
    Mix sugar, margarine and pecans.
    Let cook until thickened.
    Place yams and apples in layers in casserole dish, which has been buttered.
    Top with pecans and pour hot syrup over this.
    Let cook 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
