Anise Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    2/3 c. sugar
    2 tsp. anise seed
    1 c. flour
Preparation
    Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Grease and flour a loaf pan 9 x 5 x 3-inches.
    Beat eggs and sugar thoroughly; add anise seed. Gradually mix in seed and flour.
    Spread this stiff batter in prepared pan.
    Bake about 20 minutes or until toothpick stuck in center comes out clean.
    Pan will be only 1/4 full.
    Remove from pan and cut loaf into sixteen 1/2 inch slices.
    Place on buttered baking sheet.
    Bake 5 minutes until slices are brown.
    Turn and bake 5 minutes more.
    Cool.
    Good with fruit and hot tea.
