Basic Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. flour, slightly rounded
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch, slightly rounded
    2 eggs, separated
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Scald 1 1/4 cups milk on stove.
    In a separate bowl, beat egg yolks; gradually stir in sugar, then flour, cornstarch, salt and rest of milk.
    A little milk can be added along with the flour and cornstarch if it gets too thick.
    Stir this into hot milk and bring to a boil.
    Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla. Let cool a little and pour into pie shell.
