Country Style Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. lean beef, cut in cubes
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 c. thinly sliced celery
    6 to 8 carrots, cut in chunks
    4 c. Irish potatoes, cut in chunks
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. frozen green peas
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1/4 tsp. oregano
    1 tsp. chili powder
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    2 c. water
    1 qt. can tomatoes
Preparation
    Put the meat, water and onion in slow cooker.
    Set on high and cook 2 hours.
    Heat the vegetables just to boiling in water to cover.
    Drain off water and add to meat.
    Add the remaining ingredients.
    Cook 1 hour on high.
    Turn cooker to low and simmer for 3 hours.
