Blonde Nut Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. margarine, softened
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 egg
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. self-rising flour
    1/4 tsp. baking soda plus 1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
    1/2 c. chopped pecans or chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Cream margarine; gradually add sugar, beating well.
    Add the egg and vanilla; beat well.
    In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
    Stir in chopped nuts and chocolate morsels.
    Spread batter in a lightly greased 8 x 12 x 1 1/2-inch baking dish.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Cool and cut into squares (about 1 1/2-inches).
