Overnight Caramel Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 c. cake flour
    4 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. cream of tartar
    1 c. melted lard
    4 eggs
    1 1/2 Tbsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix together cake flour, brown sugar, salt, soda and cream of tartar, then add melted lard, but do not have hot.
    Add eggs well-beaten; mix well.
    Add vanilla.
    Form into 4 to 5 rolls and let stand overnight in a cool place or refrigerator.
    Slice thin and bake in moderate oven.
    These are rich and crisp.
    This makes about 2 gallon cookies.
