Green Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. fresh green beans
    1/3 c. shortening
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 tsp. sugar (optional)
    1/2 tsp. salt or to taste
Preparation
    If necessary, add small amount of water.
    Melt shortening in saucepan.
    Simmer onions one minute in shortening.
    Add green beans, salt and sugar.
    Cook until done.
    Stir often and cook slow.
