Family Favorite Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. diet margarine
    non-nutritive sweetener equivalent to 1 1/2 c. sugar
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 c. flour
    1 c. skim milk
    1 tsp. almond extract
    3/4 c. (4 to 5 medium) egg whites
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Cream margarine and sweetener.
    Sift baking powder, salt and flour, then add alternately with skim milk to creamed mixture.
    Add almond extract and beat stiff and fold in whites.
    Pour into two well-greased 9-inch layer pans.
    Bake about 30 minutes.
    Cool a few minutes, then remove cake from pans and cool further on wire rack.
