French-Canadian Meatball Ragout - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 lb. ground pork
    1/4 c. flour
Preparation
    Thoroughly mix spices with meat. Form meat into balls 1 1/2 to 2-inches.
    Roll each ball in flour, packing firmly.
    Brown balls on all sides in Dutch oven. Cover with water.
    Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
    Thicken gravy with flour, diluted with 1/2 cup water.
    Serve over potatoes or egg noodles. Yields 4 to 6 servings.
