Jambalaya - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
1 1/2 c. diced, cooked ham
1 c. chopped onion
3/4 c. celery, sliced
1 medium green pepper, cut in thin strips
1 clove garlic
1 (10 3/4 oz.) can chicken broth
1 (15 oz.) can Hunt's tomato sauce
3/4 c. water
1 c. chopped, cooked chicken
3/4 c. uncooked rice
2 Tbsp. minced parsley
1 bay leaf
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp. cayenne
Preparation
-
In large skillet, cook first 5 ingredients in Wesson oil until onion is soft.
Add remaining ingredients.
Bring to a boil; cover and simmer 40 minutes, stirring once or twice.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
Great way to use leftover meats.
I usually serve mine over rice, also!
