Mom'S Rolled Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. uncooked oatmeal
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 eggs
    3/4 c. shortening
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In a bowl, sift together sugar, salt and soda. Add brown sugar, eggs and vanilla.
    Mix well. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add oats.
    Work with fingers until dough just holds together. Sprinkle board lightly with confectioners sugar.
    Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutters which have been dipped in confectioners sugar. Bake on greased cookie sheet for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool and decorate.
