Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. corn muffin mix
    3 Tbsp. bacon fat or other shortening
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. freshly ground pepper
    3 green tomatoes
Preparation
    Do not peel tomatoes, just slice 1/2 inch thick, and dip the slices into the corn muffin mix.
    Fry in shortening until brown on both sides.
    Turn only once.
    Sprinkle with salt and pepper and serve.
