Cracker Jacks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 or 9 qt. popped corn
    2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. butter
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. white Karo syrup
    1/2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Boil all ingredients, except for corn and soda, for 5 minutes. Mix well and stir occasionally.
    Remove from heat; add soda, stirring in quickly.
    Pour over popped corn, mixing well.
    Put in 2 flat pans and place in a 250\u00b0 oven for 1 hour, stirring 2 or 3 times.
    Remove and completely cool.
    Store in tightly closed container.
    Peanuts may be added.
