Schmeyer Banana Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. mashed ripe bananas
    1 tsp. lemon juice
    2 c. sifted flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. nuts, chopped
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar together.
    Beat eggs until light and add to creamed mixture.
    Mash bananas and add lemon juice. Blend with creamed mixture.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
    Mix into banana mixture.
    Add nuts.
    Bake in greased loaf pan in 375\u00b0 oven about 1 1/4 hours.
    Makes 1 pound loaf.
