Ingredients

6 large (just ripe) bananas
1/2 pt. vanilla ice cream
1 commercial sponge cake
2 c. whipping cream
1/3 c. commercial chocolate sauce
chopped walnuts for garnish
Preparation

Peel bananas and wrap each in plastic wrap.
Place in freezer until frozen hard.
Remove bananas from freezer and puree in food processor until mixture resembles pudding or ice cream.
Place one layer of sponge cake in a trifle or similar serving dish.
Spoon on half of bananas, half ice cream and the remaining sponge layer. Spoon on remaining bananas and whipped cream.
Drizzle with chocolate sauce and walnuts.
Serve immediately.
Serves 8 to 10.
