Date Carrot Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can crushed pineapple
    1 c. soft oleo
    3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
    3/4 c. white sugar
    4 eggs
    1 lb. shredded carrots
    8 oz. chopped dates
    2 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. salt
    powdered sugar
Preparation
    Drain pineapple well. Beat oleo and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs. Beat in pineapple, carrots, dates and vanilla. Combine flour, soda, cinnamon, ginger and salt. Gradually beat in flour mixture until well blended. Pour batter into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan. Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 50 to 60 minutes until cake tester comes clean. Cool completely. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
    Serves 20.
